Group Sessions Bring Increased Revenue

Jul 01, 2025

Hello everyone, I'm Joel Duncan with Therapist Consultants. Today let's talk about building a thriving therapy group. Group sessions have become one of the most powerful and profitable additions to therapy practice. They're not just an important opportunity to increase your revenue, they also allow you to multiply your impact.   Just think about it, if you're charging $50 per person and you have eight people in a room, you're making $400 an hour and helping eight people instead of one. And the best part, a group tends to sustain itself over time because patients form bonds that momentum builds. And before you know it, that group becomes a weekly staple in your schedule and in theirs.   So what do do to get started? First, choose a topic that resonates deeply with your current patient base or your niche. If you specialize in marriage, maybe it's how to build a better marriage or reconnecting after kids. If you work with teens, consider a group on managing anxiety in high school. Make it specific, make it relevant, and most importantly, make it something people are already asking for.   Next, market smart. Don't just post once and hope for the best. Create a short video or a reel. Run a small Facebook ad, promote the group on your website, and reach out to local schools and churches and community groups that serve your ideal audience. Consider starting a wait list to build anticipation.   Now next week, I'm going to tell you a secret weapon about groups and one more way to stand out in your community. If you're a therapist consultant's client, review your group strategy with your consultant to ensure you're maximizing the potential. If you're not yet a client, now's the perfect time to join us.  No matter where you find yourself, today is the perfect time to start seeing growth and Therapist Consultants gives you a complete customizable roadmap to success from startup to retirement. I'm Joel Duncan and together we can take your practice to the next level. We'll see you next week for part two of the power of group sessions.
