Creating A Good Website

Sep 11, 2023

Hi, this is Dave Kats with Therapist Consultants, and I have a tip for you. We could talk for hours on what would create a good website and what would be the best for your website, but I want to tell you the most common mistakes we see our clients make when we look at their websites.

First of all, you need to have your phone number large and on every page. I would suggest you to put it in your header so that on every page you have your header and the phone number is there, because you never can tell when a potential patient says, "I think I will make an appointment." If your phone number is there, it just helps them make that appointment that much easier.

The second thing I think you need to do is use bullet points instead of so much writing. If you are going to write paragraphs, break paragraphs up. What would normally be good English to have one paragraph, divide it into two or three or four paragraphs because people read basically a sentence or two at a time. If you can avoid paragraphs altogether, that's good too. Use bullet points whenever you can because people like to see the bullet points because they just scan your website in many cases.

Another thing about your website, make sure that you have video on your website; a short video that you've done yourself or you've had a professional help you do, but have video on your website. If a picture is worth 1,000 words, a video is worth 100,000 words, so get a good video on your website.

The last thing I'd suggest you do is have a place on every page, maybe even two times on a page, where it says, "Set an appointment," or "Call for an appointment," and have a button that they can click and it'll either send them to your website, it'll send them to your phone number, it'll send them to the email, it can even send them to text, if you want them to. Have a place on every page where it says, "Set an appointment." That makes a lot of difference because you never can tell when they're ready to set the appointment, and you don't want them to lose that urge by moving to another page.

Those are some of the major things that we see that our clients do wrong on their website that you can do right to make yourself have a better visibility on the web. Are you ready to take your practice to the next level?
