Blogging for Mental Health Therapists

If you’ve been watching and implementing our video tips, I assume you have a website by now.

One thing you’ll want for your website is the capability to blog. If your website doesn’t have a blogging feature, talk to your website developer to have it added.

For therapists’ websites, a blog is a short article about something of interest in the mental health field. The average blog post is about 250 words long.
  • Your blogs don’t have to be about your specialty all the time. Mental health topics of general interest are great subjects for your blog posts.
  • For example, you may do couples’ counseling, but visitors to your website will still find it helpful to read a blog post on “How to Help Kids with ADHD.”

Blogs keep your website fresh and attract new visitors to your site. We find it best to add a blog posts twice a month.

Don’t Have the Time? Don’t Like to Write?

Many of the therapists we talk to tell us they don’t have time to blog. If you’re one of these busy therapists, I have a great solution:

http://www.fiverr.com

Fiverr is a service that connects you to freelance professionals who’ll do projects for $5. There are hundreds of pros on Fiverr who will write an original, 250 word blog post for $5.

This means that there’s no excuse not to blog; using Fiverr,
all it costs is $10 a month!

Client Resources

Clients, if you’ve purchased one of our stock websites, we add blog posts for you each month for no additional charge.

For clients who used other web developers, you can download our original blog postsfrom the client site, http://www.therapistconsultants.net.

Conclusion

However you do it, make sure to get blogs on your website and post there regularly.

When you submit blog posts on a regular basis, your website will be refreshed, your site will rise in the search engine rankings, and as a result, many new people will learn about your practice.
